OUR VISION

THE VPS CENTER: Our goal is to provide you with a place where you can be among peers who understand and "get" you.  Whether it's to just drop-in or attend a function, you'll know you're surrounded by friends.  This is your new "department".  Welcome home!

PEER COUNSELING:  We provide a relaxed, comfortable environment where our peer counselors can relate to you because they have experienced similar struggles.  Should your situation require a more clinical approach, we have working relationships with professionals who specialize in PTSD and can offer their services when needed. 

​

STRESS-REDUCTION ROOMS:   These are quiet cubicles that are designed with equipment that helps to  lower your adrenal/cortisol stress response and gently transition your body into a relaxed state.  This therapy is being used in the military, sports, medical and performing arts industries with amazing results.

 

SOCIAL EVENTS, DINNERS AND RECREATION:  We miss our peers.  We want to keep you connected, and for families, it's an opportunity to engage positively in your world.

HOBBY CLUBS:  We want to offer a variety of clubs. Options include Hunting, Fishing, Boating, Model Trains, Flying, Radio, RC Racing, Sports, Gaming, Gardening, Art, Bible Study, etc.  Here you can share your interests with others while engaging in recreational activities you enjoy.

ENTREPRENEUR SUPPORT:  We are compiling an online database of local businesses owned by current and former public safety personnel so you and the public can support them with your patronage, and hopefully,  they can provide you with discounted services.

​

TRANSPORTATION FOR DISABLED HEROES:  VPS is seeking wheelchair transportation companies to provide our disabled heroes with free or discounted transportation to and from events, doctor visits and more.

​

FUNERAL HONORS:  When someone dies who was a hero for many years but has since left active service, their contributions to their community frequently go unrecognized.  We want to ensure our former heroes are honored with the recognition we feel they so justly earned.

​

VENDOR DISCOUNTS:  We are creating a database to help you find local and national resources that offer discounts to former first-responders as well as lobbying those that don’t to consider adding you to their programs.

​

EDUCATION:  Grants and seminars will be presented to enhance both your financial and personal growth.

​

HALL OF MEMORIES:   Departmental photos, badges, patches, tools of the trade, awards and more will be displayed throughout the VPS building.    Here, you can show friends and visitors the rich history of our   industry, including the heroics, sacrifice, innovation and pride that we all share.

MUTUAL AID NETWORK:  VPS is establishing a referral network with other non-profit organizations in order to make available to our members every possible benefit for you and your family.
